Well, looking back (and actually forgetting that two days I ago I said I overdid it) it all makes sense. I got slammed pretty much full force with a flu bug today. It actually started yesterday and again, had the chance to quit while I was ahead. Had done a kind of crummy three miles on the treadmill in the am - just keeping it slow and going through the motions. But I brilliantly brought my gym bag with me for the day and finding myself with several hours between appointments, decided I could do better on a PM run. Not really - did 4+ miles and a better pace but could just tell I had tapped into not being well. By the time I was done my 2nd meeting - sniffles, aches and all, just felt like crap. Would have kept it at home today but had promised a friend that I'd help her get ready for a project we were working on.
So what do I do? You may remember some other blog post where I said you know you're really into this on that day that you absolutely shouldn't run. But you do. That was me today. I felt this flu think all day. Came home early to get some rest. And yes, would anyone know if I didn't actually run. Yes - me! So two miles and the streak will continue. And I'm sure I will tomorrow too but it will be the bare bones minimum.
Speaking of illnesses, several Seinfeld episodes involve hospitals with at least one member - if not all of the gang - ending up there. Can you name at least three episodes that involve hospitals? As a hint, one episode involves a Jewish ritual -that same episode invokes a classic/favorite movie - what movie is it? In yet another, a long forgotten candy figures somewhat prominently into the ending. Can you name the candy? That's probably enough for today - have fun!
